MUSEUM OF KERALA HISTORY

The evolution of history of Kerala in political, religious and artistic terms has been very eloquently and lovely recounted. The facial expressions of some of the historical persons are so natural.

- S.S. Kang, Governor of Kerala, Nov.4, 1997

A marvellous and unique contribution portraying the history and evolution of Kerala people and their culture. The Museum has purpose, theme as message. I compliment late Mr. Madhavan Nayar for his vision and contribution to perpetuate Kerala history.

- G.V.G. Krishna Murthy, Election Commissioner, Aug. 6, 1998.

This was an incredible experience. We are indeed grateful to the Foundation that conceived it with such perfection

- Vice Admiral Sushil Kumar, Aug. 27, 1998

It is unique, wonderful and brings history to life! Oh! the expressions in the faces ! I bow  to their artistry and hats off to the person who conceived it.

- Murasoli Maran, M.P., Chennai, Aug. 11, 1998

This was a very rewarding and enlightening experience . I found the display and explanation most informative. One wishes there were other such Museums in every state.

- Monteck Singh Ahluwalia, Planning Commission Chairman, Dec. 29, 1998.

This is a wonderful story of Kerala's history. There is so much to learn about it. We very much enjoyed it and look forward to learning more about Kerala's history .

- Louise Ashmou, Scotland, April 10, 1999.

This show was certainly unique. It  also aroused my curiosity. Now I wish to know more about the mathematicians and some of the rulers.

- Jane, NYNY, USA, April 29, 1999.

My second visit and it was more enjoyable as I was able to appreciate even more the excellent work done in establishing and maintaining this wonderful Museum.

- Vice Admiral Vinod Parischa, Vishakapatnam, Dec. 18, 1999.

I have been to many Museums in India, Europe and Africa. But none so impressive as this one. It really gives a vivid picture of our culture.

- K. Krishna Parischa, Survodaya Bal Ashram, Shimla, Dec. 18, 1999.

I was very impressed by the effort made by Madhavan Nayar Foundation to establish a ' Light and Sound ' show on Kerala's history and its makers. I found it very educative, it covered various facets on a broad objective basis and gives a sweep over time of the history of this part of India. It is worth elaborating further and growing it over time, including aspects of its natural history, beauties, intellectual pursuits like Ayurveda and the like. I wish it a great future.

- Prof. M.G.K. Menon, Dec. 16, 1999.

It was a wonderful experience. We got a very comprehensive view of Kerala history and art. The commentary is very lucid and informative.

- Ravi Kant, Chairman, Cultural Board of India, New Delhi, Dec. 29, 1999.

Gallery of Paintings and Sculptures & Centre for Visual Arts

It is a pity, booklets on Kerala Tourism hardly mention this Museum complex. A tour of Kerala should start from here. paintings are well represented.

- T. Ghosal, Managing Director, Bhilai Steel Plant, Oct. 31, 1997.

A very representative collection of Indian paintings. Very well displayed in a beautiful ambience.

- S.S. Kang, Governor of Kerala, Nov. 4, 1997.

Very interesting to see modern Indian art of such high standard in beautiful surroundings.

- Mary Pais, artist from England, Nov.11, 1997.

The Gallery has an exclusive collection with some fantastic pieces. Perhaps a separate Gallery for the etchings could be considered, as they are drawn by oils and to my mind the etchings are often of the greatest interest and aesthetic impact. Good luck with the continuing years of exhibiting India's best art.

- Sophie Hawlums, UK, Nov. 28, 1997.

This is the best gallery of paintings i have visited in India. Good paintings, nice Gallery, quiet and nice temperature. I will recommend it.

- Karw  Holf, Oslo, Norway, Jan. 13, 1998.

Beautiful collection. The expression of some paintings are very rare in the west. For India this is an excellent Gallery.

- Devendra Narain, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Cochin, Oct. 24, 1998.

A truly inspiring gallery. It is an amazing testimony to what one man can achieve. We are all that much richer for his efforts.
